EUNOPS

The European Network of Palm Scientists is an informal association of biologists with a diversity of research interests in palms (Arecaceae or Palmae). The network, established in 2001, exists to facilitate exchange of information on palm research and to promote integration and collaboration. EUNOPS meetings are held annually since the network's inception providing a regular forum for face-to-face discussions and research presentations. Annual meetings have taken place at different European venues each year and have a strong emphasis on student and postdoctoral research, as well as lively debate.

PROGRAM

The program will be available only after the deadline for presentations title submission (April 20th, 2018) and was emailed May 8th to all participants. Posters will also be displayed during the different coffee breaks. The event is free of charge and is generously supported by the Swedish Research Council, BECC, and REIS. For any questions or concerns, please send an email to christinedbacon [at] gmail [dot] com.

TRANSPORTATION

The closest airport is in Gothenburg. Direct trains from Stockholm airport to Gothenburg run frequently and you can find train information at SJ, the Swedish rail system.

The conference will take place in the Roten building, located in the Gothenburg Botanical Garden, on the 1, 2, 7, 8 or 13 tram lines at the Botaniska Trädgården stop, from where you cross the bridge over the motorway,  take a left, and walk about 400 meters to reach the main entrance. Signage will be placed to facilitate arrival.

From the garden entrance, proceed straight past the fountain, towards the glasshouse and yellow director's house on the main path, until you reach Roten on your right, which is clearly marked with its name.

ACCOMODATION

The Slottskogen Hostel and the Linné Hostel also have private rooms and entire apartments and are conveniently located to the garden. The Linnéplatsens Hotel is also quite close and the city is full of other accommodation options.

SOCIAL EVENTS

We will enjoy two coffee breaks a day, as well as lunch, provided for all participants. For those interested, we will share a meal on Saturday night where participants are responsible for their own consumption, at a restaurant with traditional Swedish cuisine.
